Dr. Raines was born and raised in Southwest Georgia. He is the third of six children. With both his mother and father being administrators at his hometown hospital and nursing home, he was exposed to medicine at an early age. His older brother is a family physician as well.

After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, he earned his medical degree at KCUMB in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his residency in family medicine at what is now known as St. Vincent’s East in Trussville, Alabama.

For Dr. Raines, practicing medicine has always been about family. He believes that medicine is not a one-size fits all solution. Instead he treats individuals facing a full range of medical problems with an aggressive, caring approach. Dr. Raines treats patients of all ages.

Dr. Raines has been in private medical practice for moret han 14 years. The past 9 years have been spent in the Gadsden area. He and his wife Janice have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. They currently reside in Gadsden.

Jessica Voss Mays, CRNP is a graduate of University of Alabama Birmingham. She attended her undergraduates studies at Jacksonville State University in 2005, where she graduated Sigma Theta Tau with a bachelors in Nursing. She received her Masters degree and Family Nurse Practitioner certificate in 2010.

 She was born and raised in Gadsden Alabama where she has worked in surrounding areas for numerous years. Jessica is married and has 5 children. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and participating in outdoor activities. She loves working with her patients and using the skills God has blessed her with to help others.

Ginger Brown is a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She has served her community as a nurse for almost 20 years. Ginger graduated cum laude from Jacksonville State University receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2001. Her career began and Gadsden Regional Medical Center where she worked in the Intensive Care Unit and served as a member of the Rapid Response team for over nine years. In 2011, she chose to further her education by attending The University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received a Master of Science in Nursing in 2013. Soon thereafter, she became board certified by the AANP as a Family Nurse Practitioner. During her career as a nurse practitioner, she has worked in Gastroenterology and Urgent Care, which ultimately led to her true calling in Primary Care. She has been with Raines Family Medicine since 2017.

Her mission is to give back to Etowah County, the place she has called home, by providing the highest level of evidence-based, holistic care with compassion and dedication to the prevention and treatment of disease.
